Jim Fritz Jim Fritz is the Director of Bands at Decorah High School, in his 27th year as a music teacher. Jim Fritz has received BME and MA degrees from the University of Northern Iowa. He was the 2003-2004 president of the Iowa Bandmasters Association, one of the largest organizations of its kind in the nation. He has received his National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification in 2005. In 2005 he also received a Fellowship from the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund. Jim Fritz is currently serving on the Iowa High School Music Association District Advisory Group. He is a tuba player who specializes in teaching brass technique at the high school. e-mail: jfritz@decorah.k12.ia.us Liz Fritz Elizabeth Fritz is currently in her 25th year of teaching, with 23 of those years spent as part of the successful band program in the Decorah Community Schools where she is the woodwind specialist. Elizabeth Fritz is very involved with several committee projects within the Iowa Bandmasters Association, including the Iowa Comprehensive Music Project and the Music Mentors of Iowa, which she chairs. She is past president of the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association and the current president of the Iowa Bandmasters 2009/2010.
